I Deactivated My LinkedIn Profile… And I Likely Will Keep It That Way For Good
I recently did something that I never thought I would do, and that was to deactivate my LinkedIn profile. Why would I do that? I mean, why would I get rid of my LinkedIn profile that I had built up for years?
There are several reasons I decided it was time to can it (though I did not officially delete it, which means there must be a sliver within me that fears one day I could regret such a bold move). However, one particular situation was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Before I get into it, I will explain my issue with LinkedIn, which I had for a while.
Why I Have Had Issues With LinkedIn
I am not sure where to begin, but when I first built my profile, which was well over a decade ago, I had marketing professionals help me. As a result, I have (or had) a really robust profile to the point that I was invited to become a LinkedIn creator several months ago.
But even though my profile has been robust, I did not get much business from it. I have read a lot of people saying the same thing, which was a common reason for many of them to deactivate their LinkedIn profiles.
