I have MDD and CPTSD and I was unable to care for my son with complex special needs. I tried but being honest with myself meant having to make one of the most difficult decisions a mother should make. That was to send him to a therapeutic setting and I did that at 13. He is 18 now and doing better than I ever imagined and he’s much happier there when he was at home.
