It was all surreal that’s for sure. I’m sorry that time was extra awful for you. My daughter turned 18 in April of that year as she will be 21 in just over 4 weeks now. It was a very bland 18th birthday for her as we were all locked down (and I turned 45 the same year but I don’t care about big birthdays anyway) but it was all awful. And yes counting my blessings that no losses from the virus happened in my family but my mental health took such a downturn especially in early 2021 when all locked down again.
