It’s such a tough situation and you have to do what is right for your situation as letting go is the hardest. I actually had to send my son to a home for youths and a residential school at 13 because my mental health was dangerously fragile and I had extreme burnout as I was 300 lbs and almost catatonic. My daughter lost out and my marriage was in shambles. My son was very unhappy despite the therapies he had since day one. But he’s 18 now and he’s doing amazingly well. He’s extremely happy and he wouldn’t want to come home. The daily therapy has been a necessity for him. I did write about this whole experience sometime in the summer.
