Thank you. I’ve been told I shouldn’t grieve over the fact that my son has special needs and isn’t going to hit many milestones compared to someone his age that is typical because “at least I didn’t lose a child.” Yeah well I never ever once compared my grief to grieving parents who have lost a child. But my grief is known as disenfranchised grief and dammit I’m gonna grieve over a lost dream whether others “approve” or not. And I’m not here to win anyone’s approval.
