Thank you. I get sick of it too. I had no choice but to send my son with combined autism and ADHD to a group home at 13 because my mental and physical health were on the line. My daughter was suffering too. My marriage was on the brink. So I’m either told I’m “so strong” or “I am a fantastic mom for what I did” and then there is the other side of the spectrum “you are so selfish for sending him away as I would never do that to my child” blah blah blah. By the way the latter is said by other special needs parents. So I get the frustration. I am definitely not strong, I am definitely not a good mom and hey, I have to say being called selfish is a compliment considering I was a people pleaser for decades. It’s about time.
